2013 Evmolpia/Cabernet Franc, Maxima, Borovitza, Bulgaria, Red, 75cl

Borovitza winery

2010 Evmolpia/Cabernet Franc, Maxima,Full boiled ,Bulgaria, Ready . Drink now, 14%

Evmolpia, also called Thracian Mavrud is an indigenous grape variety created in the seventies by crossing the indigenous Bulgarian Mavrud with Merlot. The resulting new grape variety exhibited fiery spiciness wrapped in juicy velvety fruit. Planted predominantly around Plovdiv and rarely appearing on its own Evmolpia is here partnered with Cabernet Franc. The latter is grown in the unique terroir of North Western Bulgaria adding mineral streak to the pomegranate fruit on the palate. A rather unique blend for Borovitza and an interesting complex wine. Great with spicy cuisine.
