is proudly co-organizing a specialist trade and press tasting event “MODERN WINES OF BULGARIA – VINEYARDS & GRAPES, PEOPLE & STORIES” on Thursday 1st November, 10:30 am to 4:30 pm at The Bulgarian Embassy in London, 186-188 Queen's Gate, Kensington, London SW7 5HL.

With our event based on “The Wines of Bulgaria, Romania and Moldova” A NEW BOOK by Caroline Gilby MW we aim to showcase the greatly improved quality of Bulgarian winemaking by:  

  • Showcasing a selection of the most exciting new wave wineries from Bulgaria with several coming to the UK for the first time.
  • 3 masterclasses touching not only some of the favourite “modern Bulgarian wines” of Caroline Gilby MW that inspired her to write the book but also on  food matching from The Old Cellar and the inevitable emergence of Organic and Biodynamic wines in Bulgaria!
  • The latter category will be proudly represented by the wines of Damianitza and Orbelus.
  • Also coming are the usual suspects always present on our online shop and winners of many wine competition awards Yamantievs, Logodaj and Borovitza. For the first time will be presented also the traditional sparkling wine producer Magura, exhibiting long aged on the lees traditional method cuves and delicious indigenous Misket and Gamza from the mystical foggy North West, dubbed to be one of the best hidden terroir gems in Bulgaria.
